Delegation visiting from Denmark & Sweden to Germany in the fields of Green Hydrogen
11.-13.11.2024
Be part of Germany's energy transition and learn how you can benefit from Germany's Energy-producing regions of the future. Phasing out coal will give companies the historic opportunity to use environmentally friendly innovation to help shape structural change in these regions.
Germany Trade & Invest and its partners* cordially invite you to a
3 days business trip to learn about business models along the value chain of smart energies, with a focus on
green hydrogen. From 11 to 13 November 2024 you will learn about numerous business opportunities, meet with the who-is-who of the German H2-szene, talk to experts and help shape the transition from coal-based power generation to a sustainable, innovative economic sector. We prepared an exciting and comprehensive program for you to dive into the German hydrogen landscape.
In the Ruhr area and in the Central German chemical triangle, large hydrogen pipelines have already existed for decades and are used by industry. The corresponding know-how is therefore available. The hydrogen pipeline in the Ruhr area is the longest dedicated hydrogen pipeline in Germany and stretches 240 km.
In the Central German chemical triangle (around Bitterfeld, Schkopau and Leuna), 3.6 billion m³ of hydrogen are beeing used and transportet in a ppipeline network with a combined length of 150 km.
Based on that experience and the ongoing phase out of coal power, the hydrogen pipelines are now part of the plans to create model regions for a green hydrogen economy - from production to storage and transport right through to use in various sectors.
The delegation will visit the Central German chemical triangle and it`s major players, highlight research projects for electrolysis and stack production in Lusatia and North Rhine-Westphalia and subsequently connect you with German suppliers and technology providers.
Who should join:
We invite Danish and Swedish executives from companies, scientific institutions, networks and institutions who are generally interested in getting to know the German energy market and in particular the hydrogen market, especially in the (former) coal-producing regions. Many potentials are opening up here. The government is providing support in particular to accompany the transformation from coal to hydrogen. Participation is limited to 12 companies or institutions.
What we offer:
Smart energy solutions and hydrogen technologies are the key elements that drive climate-neutral economy. As a traditional industrial, chemical and energy region, Germany has successfully developed value chains in both areas, and the potential the region presents provides great opportunities for cooperation and investment.
The German Federal States of Saxony, Brandenburg and North Rhine Westphalia, which form the “Rheinisches, Lausitzer und Mitteldeutsches Revier” are some of the most innovative and attractive locations for successful business development within Germany and Europe.
Here you can find great platform for the new, emerging technologies and center of one of the most imporant industry clusters in Europe - with excellent research and development groups at universities, Fraunhofer institutes, and companies supplying materials, equipment, technology, and products.
In addition to a favourable geographic location in Europe, there are many important factors for deciding on cooperation with regional companies or investment. Some of these factors are the outstanding transport and telecommunication infrastructure, industrial sectoral diversity, highly qualified and motivated workforce, efficient research and development infrastructure, flexible administration working quickly, a comprehensive package of regional development assistance and grants and the unequal symbiosis of economics, science and culture.
These are good conditions for the production of green hydrogen through electrolysis.
Your are welcome to be part of this successful development.
Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) is the economic development agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. GTAI supports German companies setting up in foreign markets, promotes Germany as a business location and assists foreign companies setting up in Germany. This inbound delegation trip is part of their ISW-program, which has been developed for and with partners from the regions in structural change in order to internationally promote the individual regions‘ strengths and opportunities and facilitate cross-border cooperation. International companies have the chance to visit a specific German region in order to get to know a particular industry ecosystem and network with local industry players to elaborate their next steps to enter the German market and find new business partners
